Team Captains, please email your team names to manager@napiergolf.co.nz by 1pm Monday.
 

We split each team into two pairings. If players want to be grouped specifically, let us know when you send in the names, otherwise we’ll go 1st+2nd and 3rd+4th based on your list order.

 

Digital Scoring – Thank You & Reminders

A reminder:

  • Only one person needs to score per foursome.
  • Others in the group are welcome to keep score too, but only one scorecard will be accepted—the one that is confirmed and saved first at the end of the round will count.
  • Please confirm scores with all four players before saving.

 


 

GGIDs – What They’re For
Each round has its own unique GGID for scoring.

  • This week's GGID for scoring: DUKERD6
  • Next round: DUKERD7, and so on.

The season-long GGID is DUKE26 – this is not for scoring, but gives access to:

  • Weekly menu and payment info
  • Team and individual leaderboards
  • Updated handicaps
  • News and updates

Shot Holes on Golf Genius
You can view your “shot holes” via the Golf Genius app:

  • No dot = no shot
  • 1 black dot = one shot
  • 2 black dots = two shots and so on

It's Business Time!!! 

The season we've all been waiting for is finally here.

The Business House Teams Challenge is back, and we’re proud to continue our long-standing partnership with The Duke of Gloucester Restaurant and Bar, who’ve supported this event for an incredible 28 years. Their ongoing sponsorship makes it all possible—thank you!

All 36 teams have now registered.

We have made a few changes to this competition, so please be sure to read further so you know exactly what to expect at the competition time. These changes have been made in consultation with key stakeholders and considering feedback provided by teams who participated in last summer’s competition.

 

2025/26 Entry Fee

All team captains have been invoiced. Could you please ensure this is paid by the 11th of November.

 

Dates and Times

November 11, 2025 – Dec 16, 2025.

January 20, 2026 – Feb 24, 2026

10 Rounds + 1 Finals Night on 24th Feb

* Exception Dates: December 9th – Mini Core

530pm Shotgun Start – Please come early to organise meals, grab a drink and make your way out on course ready to start by 530pm.

 

Improvements to the 2025/26 Competition

Digital Scoring

The biggest feedback we have received from previous years was that we need to speed up when we commence prizegiving after the round. This year, we encourage all players to use digital score cards by Golf Genius. At least 1 person in the foursome - two from your team and two from the team you are playing against needs to score.

PLEASE NOTE: Only Digital Scorecards will be used for the lucky card draw each night.

This year we will be using Golf Genius for digital scoring and leaderboards. Please download the app prior to Tuesday, using the instructions below. We will send out a further email on Monday after we have received all 4 players names from the team captain with further instructions on how to use the app on the night for scoring.

We will still print off cards for those who are digitally impaired – but we highly recommend everyone use digital score cards.

To view Leaderboards, Scorecards, Tee Sheets and a Member Portal. Open the app and use the GGID: DUKE26.

 

Leaderboards will be updated live on the night. Tee Sheets will be available each Tuesday around Lunchtime. Draw will be up in the next 24 hours.

 

New Format, Same Fierce Fun

This year, we’re introducing a small twist to keep things fresh. Our 36 teams will be split into two flights:

  • The Station Bar and Grill
  • The Boardwalk

Each flight will compete on its own 9-hole course and switch to other 9 the following week. Going head-to-head with teams in the same flight. But don’t worry—the overall leaderboard still comes down to total points accumulated across the season. The Finals night will be seeded across both flights.

 

Handicaps

We are using a combination of past years. We will start with your DotGolf Handicap at the beginning of the season.

Players with a current (or have EVER previously held an official Golf NZ) handicap, are to use that handicap, divided by 2 as their Business House starting handicap. Players returning from last season who do not have an official Golf NZ handicap are to use the handicap they had at completion of last season’s event.

If you have NEVER held an official Golf NZ handicap and are not returning from last season, the maximum starting 9-Hole handicaps are 12 for Men, 18 for Women.

If you score LESS than 18 stableford points, your handicap index goes OUT 0.25 of a shot for each point under 18 and REDUCED by 0.50 of a shot for each point over 18.

If you need to call a non-affiliated player into your team, their score can still count towards your team’s score for the week up to a maximum of 19 stableford points each week.

 

Team Entry Lists – VERY IMPORTANT

Captains, please supply the names of your 4 players each MONDAY by 1pm with who will be competing for your team that week. Please email the list to Manager@napiergolf.co.nz.

As mentioned earlier, the biggest feedback from previous years is that we need to start prizegiving earlier. For us to achieve this, we will be entering names into Golf Genius on Monday Afternoon. It will create more work after the round on Tuesday if we need to make changes, which defeats the purpose of digital scoring.

We will be giving out Balls for two’s, and 19 Points. Chickens are now every week! Score 20 or more and grab yourself a chicken.

We will be raffling off a Handipod shed from Stratco.

Playing Conditions

A reminder that if you tee off on the front-nine, then you must complete all other holes on the front nine. The same applies if you tee off on the back nine, then you must complete all back nine holes.

Please refer to the Local Rules board for any rules which you need to be aware of.

Scoring & Rewards

  • The top 3 Stableford scores from each team will count toward the team total each night.
  • Score 20+ Stableford points and earn yourself a chicken —a tradition we proudly uphold!
  • Score 19 points and you’ll receive a golf ball.
  • Scoring a two will also earn you a golf ball.

Please ensure that you are repairing your pitch marks and replacing your divots. If each player can repair two pitch marks on each green, the greens will be mint all summer long!
